My Nail Care Routine

Everybody has a different routine when taking care of their nails. Some may do nothing at all, and some may go to great lengths to get their nails perfect. Well I am one of those people that are in the middle. I don't do a whole lot but I do enough to make sure they are well cared for.

On a daily basis I constantly moisturize my hands, paying very close attention to my cuticles. Cuticles can get very dry, and once they dry you will notice cracking which that is how "hang nails" can occur.

When I file my nails, I use a glass file, I find that using a glass file on my nails prevents my  nails from splitting, and peeling. When you file your nails, its important to go in one direction trying not to bend the nail. Bending the nail weakens your nails which could cause you to have a break in your future. After I file, I use the end of my glass file to gently push back my cuticles, when I say gently...I mean...gently. I never ever cut or trim my cuticle, I just simply put a cuticle cream on them and that's it.

See how simple that is! Below is a picture of my products I use on my nails. Nothing special!

Ombre love and other cute stuff...

I won't say I am a pro at ombre' nails YET but I think this purple gradient turned out pretty freaking good! I also added another ombre I did with a little animal flare!

Last but certainly not least. I have been following this particular girl for quite some time. She has amazing nail art and her designs that she creates are absolutely stunning! This next mani is a recreation of one of her designs. If you get a chance, please check out her blog here

Layers upon Layers

This manicure is super easy. You don't need any tools what so ever. You need to choose 2 nail colors of your choice. Polish your first coat and let dry. Next you choose your other color and start polishing making sure leave the first color peeking out just a little bit. Let dry, and alternate each color leaving a little peeking through each time. The key to this design is to make sure you allow enough time for each layer to dry. Have fun and let the layering begin!

Ode to Stripes

This design is super easy to create, just choose two of your favorite colors and some scotch tape! You could choose as many colors as you like, completely up to you. Paint your first color and let it fully dry, next cut your scotch tape into strips at whatever width you prefer and place onto your nails. Paint your second color on top of the of the scotch tape. I usually let it dry for maybe 2 minutes tops and then I carefully pull the tape strips off. Place your favorite top coat on it and..........viola! You have created something that looks like this.

There are multiple color combos that you can create using this simple technique.

So I'm blogging!!!!!

First off I want to welcome you all! I plan on using this blog to post my nail art. Heck, I may even do a how to pictorial of how to create one of my designs on your own nails. Also from time to time you may see a few swatches of polishes that are worth sharing because it is that good! Of course I would love to hear feedback from you all on how I can improve this blog. I have been away from the blogging world for quite some time so I have no idea what I'm doing, so please bear with me. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.
