Thanksgiving themed Nail art!!!!

Some people think of Thanksgiving as a time to eat some really good food and eat a lot of it, but its really about being together with your family and sharing memories that will last a lifetime. In my family, we started a new tradition about 4 years ago by doing the Turkey Trot. The Turkey trot is a simple 5K run or walk that is held on Thanksgiving day in the morning in downtown Dallas. Its usually really cold so we all bundle up and get our workout done before all the fun family festivities begin.

This nail art is a simple Fall themed nail design using fall colors with different colored fall leaves. I really enjoyed doing this nail design and hope you do too! What are your traditions during this time of year? Hope you all have a great holiday and an even better Thanksgiving! Love to you all!

Free Hand Fridays with Lady Maid Nails!!!

This weeks edition of Free hand Friday we have a cute children's themed design that Amanda from Lady Maid Nails chose. When I showed my son these nails he said, "Mommy, you have monsters on your hands". I found this design to be quite difficult this week, but I think I pulled it off....I hope! For this design I used all nail polish and no acrylic paints. I get a lot of questions of if I use acrylic paints, and I normally don't 90% of the time I do nail art. I usually use nail polish thinner to thin my polish out to make it easier to work with. So enjoy this weeks design.

Now go check out Amanda's version of her monster themed nails over at Lady Maid nails. Come back next week to see our next Free hand Friday! Have a great weekend!

Review- Gold Bond Ultimate Intensive Healing Hand Cream

Walking through Walgreen's a while back this particular cream caught my eye. I had been wanting to try it because the commercial for it was so intriguing and since the winter months are coming up I thought it would be perfect. So I picked up a smaller tube of it just to see if I would like it, and if I did then I could always go back and get the bigger size.

One thing that I look for in a hand a lotion is that it can't be greasy, and it can't have a strong scent. I hate hand creams that smell like old ladies. So I took a quick whiff inside the store hoping no one would see me what I was doing and it actually smelled really good. It has a light citrus scent. After using this for a month or so now I can actually say this is going to be a staple in my product stash. I love how quickly it absorbs into your skin.

This stuff is like liquid gold for your hands! As advertised on the package: works into skin fast, works to heal breaks and sores due to dryness (also fast), isn't obtrusively greasy like many lotions and keeps working after water exposure. It claims that it absorbs into your skin within 15 seconds. It really does! If you all get a chance to pick this Gold Bond Hand cream up, please do. You won't regret this purchase.

Freehand Friday with Lady Maid Nails

Here were go again with another edition of Freehand Fridays with Lady Maid Nails! This week I chose the theme of the design and I chose a dress from my closet which is a black dress with white flowers. The dress is from Banana Republic, and I got ages ago.

This design was fairly simple to do. I think next time I will try to do something a little harder with a little more detail. Which by the way Amanda has done....She chose next weeks design and its got a ton of detail work..... but I think I'm up for the challenge!

Go check out Amanda's design over at Lady Maid Nails, to see what she came up with!!!!

Freehand Fridays with Lady Maid Nails

So I am starting a series with Lady Maid Nails where we are planning on challenging each other to various free hand nail art projects that we will then both recreate. Our first is inspired by a throw pillow from Amanda's couch! Here is a picture of the pillow from which we drew inspiration on!

Here is my version of what I came up with.....

I am going to be honest with you, this design took a lot of practicing and attempts so I could have something that would be somewhat believable. So this is what I came up with. I used a very small detailing brush for the flowers. I bought it at Sally's Beauty Supply. A good alternative to this brush is in my new "SHOP my Favorites" section in the menu bar. Check it out along with some other favorites of mine I use for nail care.

Well what do you all think?  Please go check the very creative nail artist/blogger Amanda from Lady Maid Nails! Please go show her some love!!!!
